IT Security Law

IT security law refers to the entirety of laws, regulations and provisions that govern the protection of information technology and the handling of IT security risks. It covers topics such as cybersecurity, liability in connection with IT security incidents, compliance requirements and data protection in the field of information technology. One important law, for example, is the Act on the Federal Office for Information Security (BSiG), which regulates the IT security requirements for operators of critical infrastructures, Section 8a BSiG.
